FS#6910 - Linux>gnome3: shortcuts function does not respect current selected keyboard layout

I have both dvorak-programmer and intl keyboard layout on my system (linux-4.4.84-gentoo, gnome-3.24.2, systemd-238-r2).

In “Input Sources” in the “Region & Language” settings I can set the order of the keyboard layout I use and in the -task bar- I can change the current selected keyboard layout despite of this order.

In PS in the chat window the current selected keyboard is used but in the shortcuts the first in the list of “Input Sources” is used.

Took me a little while to figure what went wrong here but apparently two different methods are used within PS to see which keyboard layout is used.
