FS#2059 - Loading entering of locations (Guild houses for instance) drops a few

I realized this on laanx a few times. After entering The guild house, a few items where missing. Relogging often brought them back. This bug is hard to realize and I only had it in locations with many items.

Hmm, I'm not sure how many items are needed, but I dropped 65 apples in a grid in a guild house on the local server, all of them loaded. Probably a case of dropped packets.

Is this more like items and NPCs appearing in npcroom only after you move?

maybe related to  bug 1582 ?

Looks like dropped packets and not related to  bug 1582 .
I've witnessed situations before where the client misses items or actors from his proximity
list, when the amount of data to be received is fairly long (e.g. on log in, or entry to a new sector like described in this task).

A way to resolve this would be the server to send to the client a list of all entities EIDs residing in the client's proximity list before starting the transmission, as well as a message to indicate this transmission end.
The above needs to happen on client log-in or entry to such sectors, since this issue only seems to happen in such occasions.
The client then could request re-transmission of any missing entities, after the transmission end message
is received.

Even if not directly related to  bug 1582 , such a fix of this part would probably resolve both issues.

(confirming)

CLosing this old report in favour of more general dropped packet problems that have been solved. Is similar thing do appear again, make a new report.
