FS#4573 - Crafting Broadswords

I can’t improve the quality of either the Broadsword handle or the blade unlike other swords.

Attempt to heat the parts in the forge:
> You are not sure what is going to happen to 1 Broadsword Handle.
> You are not sure what is going to happen to 1 Broadsword Blade.

Looked through the book “Superior Sword Parchment’ and didn’t found any entry referencing the possiblity of doing it.

The task blocks this from closing

after forrowing it's over

What about the handles? There's currently no way to heat and return them to ingots.

So we back again playing the "Wheel of Fortune"?

Franta commented on 03.07.2010 15:16

As any other weapon can be reheated, shaped and sharpened again, it should be possible for broadswords and broadsword handles too. The furrowing is just another step to the standard process and it should be possible to improve the quality before final assembling of the sword.
Reshaping back to ingots should work as for other weapons too, so alpha, beta, delta and brittle blades and handles should be possible to reshape too, at least until it is possible for all other weapons.

set as fr as it's not a bug but missing data in case. assigning to the only rules dev but we have none able to work on these data right now.
actually I can't find an account I'll poke the rules dev about it

Just checked the book and it is a bug!!!

There are all needed lines in the book:

Forge Heated Broadsword Blade into Super Heated Broadsword Blade using Forge
Forge Super Heated Broadsword Blade into Red Hot Broadsword Blade using Forge
Shape Heated Broadsword Blade into Dull Broadsword Blade using Anvil with Hammer
Shape Heated Broadsword Blade into Dull Broadsword Blade using Anvil with Master Crafted Hammer
Shape Super Heated Broadsword Blade into Dull Broadsword Blade using Anvil with Hammer
Shape Super Heated Broadsword Blade into Dull Broadsword Blade using Anvil with Master Crafted Hammer
Shape Red Hot Broadsword Blade into Dull Broadsword Blade using Anvil with Hammer
Shape Red Hot Broadsword Blade into Dull Broadsword Blade using Anvil with Master Crafted Hammer

But the line for making Heated Broadsword Blade is missing from the book, everything else is included so it should be possible and it should be changed back to bug report and fixed.

has this been fixed?

Davide Vescovini commented on 07.02.2013 10:40

Re-heating and re-hammering the same weapon parts trying to get better results is a very low priority and not something we will work on anytime soon. Setting to very low priority and removing from assignment.

Werner commented on 26.02.2013 10:42

As this is open for almost three years now, I considers this as "very, very low" already. How is you definition of "very low", 10 years mayhaps?

This is feature request not a bug. It could be decided it will not be implemented at all at some point.
