FS#1208 - Floating house behind Kada-El's tavern
Starting the game in hydlaa_jayose, a slanted little house can be seen floating near Kada-El’s, to the left. During this time, the backside balcony of Kada-El’s tavern has no texture, and I fall through the end of the world.
This bug may be related to FS#1191 (wall in the forest when starting in Ojaveda).

Fixed with new maps

(The strange colors are related to a lighter2 issue - http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=26613.msg365665#msg365665 - not related to this bug report)
Did not happen for me, linux and nvidia 6600GT, are you sure there weren’t more maps you went through from client start?
Pretty sure.
I logged my char in below the bridge at the tower (near the “Dark Empire” house), and went rather directly through the passage, across the plaza, and up the stairs.
Win32, GeForce 6800 GTS, pre-loading models (IIRC).
I can see it. The difference between house1.jpg and what I am seeing is the background is green instead of blue. I started on Trasok’s roof.
Aiken confirmed, setting new.
I saw the house too and did some further testing.
It seems to depend on the order of loading hydlaa_jayose and hydlaa_plaza.
With “Keep maps loaded” turned ON:
If you load hydlaa_plaza before hydlaa_jayose, it’s not there.
If you load hydlaa_jayose before hydlaa_plaza, it is there. (you apparently can have any other map loaded in between. eg “sewers” and it will still be there)
With “Keep maps loaded” turned OFF:
load hydlaa_jayose directly followed by hydlaa_plaze = it is there.
loading hydlaa_jayose, then hydlaa_plaza = “it is there”, then sewers (unloading hydlaa_common, I guess), then hydlaa_plaza again = it isn’t there anymore.
It seems to have to do with some map which is shared between hydlaa_jayose and hydlaa_plaza. walking from hydlaa_jayose to hydlaa_plaza doesn’t unload that part (purposedly), even if you have “keep maps loaded” turned off.
I often get that house. It is solid and blocks your path, but only when looking toward the hill, not toward Laanx Temple from the back of it.
The mytery house comes up as Object01. If you visit jayose then go to the plaza the map this house appears behind the taven. As a work around I changed the name of meshfact _auto_Object01 to something unique and that house no more on my map.
Checked with new maps. Issue remains.
