FS#3166 - [0.5.x] "unshadowed" rendermgr. - log in in arena map - falling eternally
Log out in the arena map, e.g. somewhere near the entrance / default teleport location (doesn’t matter where exactly, even inside the arena building - possibly except one specific sector?).
When you log in with the “unshadowed” rendermanager, you fall down to the end of the world. You are reset to the default teleport location - and fall again - and again…
Teleport out of the arena map (e.g. to “hyarena”), and enter it again (walking or teleporting): You can stay there without falling.
Looking upwards while falling, you see a small piece of a hallway. So it seems that despite the fact you logged out e.g. in the “outer” sector, you log in in another sector and outside its geometry limits.

Confirmed.
Additional comments from Ligh (PS#3165):
If I use the “rlcompat” rendermanager, as soon as I enter the arena building, I step into black void and fall to the end of the world.
I can enter the arena building with the “unshadowed” render manager, though.
Even if I enter the arena with unshadowed, log out, and log in with rlcompat, I fall after logging in.
Can you reproduce this in walktest?
i can’t reproduce this on current trunk with ps
There is still something wrong:
- Go to the arena
- Log off in sector outer
- Log in again and enter the building. As soon as enter sector entr, you fall down to the end of the world.
Same when logging off in sector hall and entering sector entr.
confirming f-rd results
I can’t reproduce this.
with the last changes it’s again extremely easy to reproduce here. looks like the same as the problem with the npcclient where all npc were killed on startup
Should be fixed.
