FS#3635 - Some labels don't appear; client crashes on "/repaintlabels"
Sometimes I don’t see labels above characters.
When I call “/repaintlabels”, the client crashes.

I recently get this often. It seems to happen in conjunction with sector crossing. IIRC, this happened in one of the earlier CB versions as well, but was fixed. Likely it happens if another char logs in or changes zone to the zone you end up in after you have started zoning but before you completed the transition. Just a guess, but I most often see it after having zoned myself, and near portals. Anyway, I can definitely confirm this on win32 (minus the client crash, which I did not try, but I assume it will also be confirmed when I do).
Indeed. I used to see such effects right after arriving at the plaza coming from the east quarter or the arena.
It has possibly similar reasons as the not appearing fireplaces or tent at the Explorer booth.
I guess that "/repaintlabels" only crashes the client when a label was missing. It did not right after logging in.
Ligh, please set a bug new when it is confirmed :)
After not having this for quite a while, I got this twice now after entering the sewers from Percival's spot, going to Fordanot (him, the rat and the Coamti didn't wear their labels). Killing the rat crashed me, as did repaintlabels the other time.
